The Community Foundation of Colusa County (CFCC) Joins Foundation Center’s National Network

Cooperating Collection provides Resources for Local Grant Seekers

Nonprofit organizations and other grant seekers in Colusa County looking for funding sources now have access to a valuable new collection of resources through CFCC , which has become a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center of New York.

Cooperating Collections provide under-resourced and underserved populations in need of vital information and training with tools they can use to become successful grant seekers.  At locations throughout the country, Cooperating Collections offer access free of charge to the Center’s detailed information on grantmakers and how to apply for grants.  The Foundation Center’s core collection includes The Foundation Center Online profiling more than 80,000 U.S. grantmakers, Foundation Grants to Individuals Online, print directories and proposal writing guides.  Cooperating Collections also hold training session on how to effectively use these resources and identify potential funders.  Many of these materials are also available in Spanish.

Established in 1956, the Foundation Center is the nation’s leading authority on organized philanthropy, serving grant seekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media and the general public.  Thousands of people visit the Center’s web site each day and are served in its five regional learning centers and its nation network of Cooperating Collections.

“We are really lucky to have this,” says Ben Felt, Executive Director for CFCC. “This is one site that lists thousands of different funding sources, from private grant makers to governmental sources.  By CFCC establishing this Cooperating Collection, all information, training, support and assistance is free to anyone who wishes to come in and sign on.”

For more information about the Foundation Center resources, visit www.foundationcenter.org  or for information call Cheri White at (530) 788-5388.  The Cooperating Collection can be accessed at the CFCC office, 2967 Davison Ct, Suite C, Colusa.
